Yarning along in 5 degree weather.....brrrrrrr!!

6:30 AM

Yes, the temperature has been down in the single digits the past couple days! We had snow on Monday and it looks like there is another storm approaching on Friday. I've been sticking close to the woodstove and sipping lots of warm tea.....and yes a little knitting is getting done. I have a few past projects to share now that they are blocked and photos are finally taken.

My Aeslight shawl.....can I tell you how much I am enjoying shawl making! I have my eye on quite a few others I would like to get started on! There is just something about wearing them that I really love!I knit this in spud and chloe fine yarn and it was great to work with and this is my most favorite color!!

Another little knit that came together really quick is this cute shrug for Hannah Grace. I had picked up this yarn on sale at my LYS and it was just sitting in my stash waiting to be made into something cute! Pure alpaca to keep her little body warm!! She was really moving around and it was so hard to get a good picture of it! It's a sweet pattern with nice details.

Last week I shared that I had cast on for the Vodka Lemonade Cardigan. I am a little more then halfway on the shoulder seams and plugging along. I am hoping I like the cotton yarn.......not sure yet. I hope it drapes and fits like I want it too.

And I have conquered 2 at a time socks!!! My first pair of socks are moving along rather nicely as I dream about them warming my feet! This is a twisted baskets pattern and it is fun to see the pattern emerging!!

I downloaded Jane Eyre from Audible this past week and am enjoying listening to it as I knit. I remember reading this when I was younger......but that was quite some time ago!!

Joining Ginny over at Small Things for this weeks yarn along......can't wait to see what's on everyone's needles this week!!

  2. We have snow, too, but it does make good light for photos, doesn't it?!
    Your alpaca cardigan looks lovely!
One thing I learned last year about knitting clothing in cotton is that it's quite heavy so larger items will stretch downwards over time.

  5. Your shawl is just beautiful and so is your little one - she looks about the same age as our baby.

  6. i love the shawl. Made one that I wish was just a bit longer, but I really like it, so it's a keeper regardless. Great little sweater.
